Hey everyone, Adarsha here. I serve as a member of the Alliance for Climate Education (ACE) Youth Advisory Board.
ACE is a national nonprofit dedicated to educating America's high school students about the science behind climate change and inspiring them to do something about it—while having fun along the way. Founded in 2008, ACE is headquartered in Oakland, California, with offices in New York, Washington, DC, Los Angeles, Chicago, New England, Denver, Atlanta, Houston and Austin.
ACE's mission is to educate, inspire and activate students to curb climate change and its effects, because we believe young adults can make a meaningful impact now.
I am inviting you all to an event called DOT, which stands for Do One Thing. Specifically, Do One Thing to help the environment. Anyone can do a DOT, or any group of people. DOTs can vary in size as well-a DOT can be something like carpooling more or replacing all the incandescent light bulbs in your house with energy-efficient fluorescent ones, or something larger, like working together with students in your school to make your campus more energy efficient. No matter the size of what you can do, make a DOT. Then, Text "DOT" to 30644. You’ll receive a set of instructions on what to do then. Alternatively, go to http://www.acespace.org/dot and you can post your DOT there and see what others have done as well. If you have any further questions or advice, you can contact the head of the DOT program, Michael LaFemina at the following email address: michael.lafemina@climateeducation.org
Sincerely,
Adarsha Shivakumar
