Permalink Reply by Jess Jones on May 8, 2011 at 7:51pm I find that taking a "one thing at a time" approach helps encourage real lifestyle change, not temporary behavior adjustment. For example, it took me close to 10 years to become a true vegetarian. First I eliminated red meat. A few years later I gave up poultry. Next I stopped eating fish. Also, I wanted to decrease my family's electricity use. First I switched out the lights with CFLs. A few months later, I bought a humongous drying rack and started using the dryer less. Soon I'll tackle another thing. This has made it easier for me as well as my family members (who are all great but not always as green as I tend to be!).
