The Green Flag Program at The Charles E Smith Jewish Day School
Project Title
The Green Flag Program at The Charles E Smith Jewish Day School
Project Description
After realizing how much waste our school produces that could be easily avoided in a very inexpensive matter, we decided that to be able to get something done, we must take charge. This program has many goals for the program itself and for us as a school, which will all be explained later in this presentation.
The Green Flag Program promotes student leadership and activism for the creation of safer and healthier school environments. Created in 2002 as a project of the Child Proofing Our Communities Campaign coordinated by the Center for Health, Environment and Justice, the Green Flag Program assists schools across the country to achieve environmental success in the program's four issue areas. Form a team, work with key stakeholders to improve your school's environmental practices, and earn environmental rewards with the Green Flag Program.
